Lioness week 2

There is a difference between awakening as a lioness and awakening a lioness

If there ever comes a time when the women of the world come together purely and simply for the benefit of mankind, it will be a force such as the world has never known.
Matthew Arnold, 19th Century British Poet and Philosopher

We have apprehended the gravity of our time and laid aside our doctrinal differences in order to join ranks and make a difference. **Celebrate the differences.**

Fact:  A lion’s maximum speed is 30 miles per hour.  A lion’s jump is 12 feet vertical and 36 feet horizontal.

It is time to change the way we see things. It is not enough to look solely at who we are. We must look at women in the past the present and the future.   It is time to enlarge the way we see and interact with so many areas of life. We need to stretch. Stretch happens when tension, flex or strain is added to a muscle group.  An ability to stretch can produce flexibility and prevent injury.
Stretching is different from striving. Striving is awkward, uncomfortable and unattractive.
  1. What are some ares in your life that need to be stretched?
  2. Are there areas in your life where you are striving?
Striving is done our of fear. Because of fear, you may have forfeited strength, life and even beauty.  You can loose the sense of your true self.  So much of what God wants for you is unrealized. when the time came, the lioness aroused herself. It is time to know who you are. It is time you stirred, provoked, incited and awakened yourself.

Be at ease with your strength and at rest with your power.
Righteousness is a state we rest in, there is a realm we can enter into and live where strength is a haven too.  We discover rest when we cease striving.
Isaiah 30:15
“Your salvation required you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourself. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me.”
In a nut shell: Settle down, depend on Him, and your strength will come. God lives in us, but now, we live in Him.  We are no longer on control.
When we stop struggling in our own ability, our true strength is revealed, because that is when we are relying on God’s strength not ours. God is not withholding strength from you; He is bestowing it.
One of the meanings of bestow is as a verb and is to “entrust with.” He is not giving you strength just to be strong, He is trusting you with it, He expects you to do something with it.

Encounter God:
Strength is not to be feared; it is to be embraced.
Do not make the mistake of imagining meekness to be weakness. It is tempered strength or might under control.
Moses was called both meek and humble, but he was nevertheless a mighty leader and a force to be reckoned with. I have to wonder if this was  because he had met the very ONE WHO WAS BACKING HIS EVERY WORD.

What are your excuses?????
